Everyday we are confronted with objects that are produced in incredible amounts of quantity (chop-sticks, disposable cutlery, staples, rubber bands, cloth spins, paper cups, sheets of paper, tape, etc.).
Even though we encounter such items on a daily base, they are rarely seen as 'design'-objects. However they do carry certain qualities which we can learn of and at the same time their relevance can often be discussed. This ambivalence was the starting point for the workshop 'everyday quantity'.
My chosen object for the workshop was a bunch of cable ties.
