I am Mar Martí Coma-Cros, a multidisciplinary designer.
Although my initial studies were in fashion design, I have always been interested in product design and the idea of applying textiles onto other supports, rather than garments. Easy, playful and adaptable are concepts that I like to work with. And I'd rather be hand-working than computering.
I graduated in 2010 at Escola de Disseny BAU (Barcelona), with a degree in Fashion design (menswear specialization). I coursed the last semester in École de Mode de Montréal, where I also attended to a course on textile surfaces and finishings at Atelier Centre Design et Impression textile.
I did an internship at Boris Bidjan Saberi (Barcelona) and Tim Hamilton (New York) as a menswear designer.
Afterwards, I was awarded with a scholarship and I decided it was the moment to learn about product design. I participated in MA European Design Labs at IED (Madrid), leaded by Jaime Hayón. I obtain my diploma in December 2012, with a thesis called LandLand.
I am still dealing between fashion/textile and product design and the thin line that divides them. I find interesting how things become multidisciplinary in a natural way.
